Only eight miles from downtown Washington, D.C., with easy access to I-395, the West End is Alexandria’s largest and fastest-growing neighborhood. The West End is home to the city’s craft beer scene with the headquarters of award-winning Port City Brewing Company as well as critically-lauded international dining, including some of the best Thai, Vietnamese and Ethiopian food in the region. You’ll also find historic parks like the 45-acre Civil War-era Fort Ward Museum & Historic Site, Dora Kelly Nature Park and Jerome “Buddie” Ford Nature Center, where you can see flora and fauna.
