Planning a trip to Alexandria? When you arrive, make your first stop the Alexandria Visitor Center, located at 221 King Street in Old Town. You’ll find brochures, maps and tickets to a variety of tours and attractions. Our knowledgeable staff is ready to help you find local favorites and ongoing events. You can also enjoy our gift shop with Alexandria souvenirs, free Wi-Fi, directions and transportation information and more.

The Alexandria Visitor Center was once a private home to the family of William Ramsay, Scottish merchant, and city founder. Today, you can still find warm hospitality waiting for you.

The Alexandria Visitor Center is open 7 days a week.

Sunday – Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

April

Sunday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

May

Sunday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

June, July

Sunday-Thursday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Friday, Saturday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

August

Sunday – Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

September

Sunday – Thursday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Friday – Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

October through February

Sunday – Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day.
