Opening reception for Avery Schoenberger’s show “Touches of Red” as part of their Artcelerate residency.
Join us for the Opening Reception of Avery Schoenberger‘s first Artcelerate show, “Touches of Red”.
This show is sponsored by Shop Made Foundation and the ARTCELERATE program. The artist will be in residency with Shop Made in DC through June.

ABOUT THE SHOW:
Touches of Red (2026) is a collection of works by emerging queer artist Avery Schoenberger. This show features works tied together through explorations of ancient stories and art history, and anchored in the symbolic use of red, representing life, power, and passion.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Avery Schoenberger is an emerging queer artist raised and based in Northern Virginia.
The combination of graduating with a BA from the University of Pittsburgh in both Studio Arts and Classics gives their art a unique perspective, as they draw inspiration from ancient civilizations and the visual language of early Baroque painters, which they apply to their interest in deconstructing genderqueer experiences. Avery is known for their oil paintings which bring together beauty and thought-provoking imagery, creating work that is impactful both emotionally and intellectually.
Avery’s art has been displayed in the Cathedral of Learning and the Hillman Library at the University of Pittsburgh, as well as at the Torpedo Factory Art Center and Artspace gallery. Their work has also been selected for several juried shows with The Art League and published in the Harvard Undergraduate Classics journal.
