Jamie Leeds had a lifelong fondness for oysters and shared a bond with her late father, Hank Leeds, over their mutual delight and wonder of seafood. She credits him as the driving force behind her rise to become one of the D.C. region’s most celebrated chefs and renowned LGBTQ+ business owners. Today, her acclaimed restaurant, Hank’s Oyster Bar, serves guests at Alexandria’s Old Town North neighborhood, and in two D.C. locations. With a location in Alexandria for nearly eighteen years, seafood lovers flock to its Old Town North location for bubbling cocktails and rooftop views. A living tribute to her father’s legacy and an invitation for others to discover the delight of seafood. 

Jamie’s entrepreneurial spirit led her to form the Jamie Leeds Restaurant Group, a company focused on creating inclusive dining spaces that capture the spirit of their surroundings. Each restaurant features a core menu with location-specific specials. The Hank’s Oyster Bar in Old Town North offers a unique dining experience as it sits a few blocks from the waterfront, offering a scenic rooftop dining area.
