The abundance of great wine throughout Alexandria is a testament to Virginia’s place as one of the East Coast’s top wine producers and the many vineyards that dot the surrounding countryside. At Planet Wine in Del Ray, choose from nearly 2,000 wines and take part in twice-weekly tasting. Down the street, head to Cheesetique, which offers weekly wine tastings and monthly wine dinners as well as a cheese and wine shop. In Old Town, head to Sonoma Cellar for a wine tasting featuring a couple of Virginia wines.
