The 14th Annual Alexandria Summer Sidewalk Sale Returns
Stroll Outdoors August 12 for Deals from More Than 40 Boutiques
Alexandria, VA—One of the longest running summer shopping events returns to the D.C. region’s Shop Small destination for independent boutiques, Alexandria, Virginia. The annual Alexandria Summer Sidewalk Sale will take place on Saturday, August 12, 2023, throughout Old Town and beyond. The event features more than 40 Alexandria boutiques stepping out of their storefronts and offering deeply discounted summer merchandise, plus pop-up live music performances to provide a soundtrack to your strolling.
Shoppers are invited to follow a map of participating stores along Alexandria’s red brick sidewalks for end-of-summer savings from locally owned boutiques. During the week of the event, the map will be posted online at AlexandriaSidewalkSale.com, accessible via a QR code on posters at participating stores and available in print for pickup at the Alexandria Visitor Center, 221 King Street.
Explore local items ranging from women’s clothing and shoes to locally made and fair-trade goods, books, home décor and beyond at dozens of Alexandria boutiques. Check out new Sidewalk Sale participants, including American in Paris, Fiscus Glassworks, Frances Valentine and Ms. Moxie’s Moon Shop. Along the 0 block of King Street, enjoy pop-ups from Lily’s Flower Truck, Made in ALX, Passionately Pets and more. In Alexandria’s Del Ray neighborhood, browse unique finds at the Del Ray Vintage & Flea Market and beyond.
Plus, listen to pop-up live music performances curated by Yellow Door Concert Series. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., No Part of Nothin’ will bring bluegrass and classic country to the corner of Fayette and King Streets. From 1 to 4 p.m., soak in the sounds of the Vaughn Ambrose Jazz Trio under the overhang at Union and King Streets. Parking is available in various parking garages in Old Town as you explore participating boutiques throughout the day.
