Alexandria is easily accessible by three major airports in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan area:

Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport is about 10 minutes north of Old Town Alexandria by way of the George Washington Memorial Parkway. It’s also a short ride on Metrorail between the Reagan National Airport station and the King St-Old Town station.
Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD)

Dulles is located about 40 minutes northwest of Old Town Alexandria by way of the Dulles Toll Road. Washington Flyer also offers bus service between Dulles and the West Falls Church Metrorail station, about a 25-minute ride. Tickets are $10 one way, $18 round trip. Click here for the schedule. BWI is about 50 minutes northeast of Old Town Alexandria by way of Route 295. Other options include taking Amtrak from BWI to the Old Town station, or the regional MARC train to Union Station in D.C., where you can take Metrorail to Alexandria.
