Metro from Reagan National Airport (DCA) to The Westin Alexandria (~12 minutes):
- The Metro is an elevated station connected to the concourse level of Terminal 2.
- Follow signs for the Metro and take one of two pedestrian walkways to the escalators up to the outdoor platform.
- Take the Blue Line toward Franconia-Springfield OR the Yellow Line toward Huntington.
- Get off at the King St-Old Town Metro station or at the next stop, Eisenhower Avenue. It’s an easy 8-minute walk to The Westin from either stop—the hotel is equidistant to both.
Metro from Dulles International Airport (IAD) to The Westin Alexandria (~1.5 hours):
- Head from the terminals to Parking Garage 1. The Metro station is on airport property.
- Take the Silver Line toward Largo and get off at the Rosslyn stop in Arlington, VA.
- Do not leave the Rosslyn station as you need to transfer here. Follow signs for either the Blue Line toward Franconia-Springfield OR the Yellow Line toward Huntington and take one.
- Get off at the King St-Old Town Metro station or at the next stop, Eisenhower Avenue. It’s an easy 8-minute walk to The Westin from either stop—the hotel is equidistant to both.
WMATA Metro cards are purchased from the machines near the station’s entrance before the turnstiles. The Metro system charges a rate per stop.
The Alexandria Amtrak station is located on King Street, just above the King Street Metro stop in Old Town Alexandria.
About the Neighborhood
The Westin is located in the Carlyle neighborhood of Alexandria. As an economic engine of Alexandria, the Carlyle neighborhood celebrates the spirit of innovation and local culture. Pair a visit to the National Inventors Hall of Fame and the region’s first urban cidery with local eateries and African American history sites.
For those who wish to explore Old Town Alexandria, the free King Street Trolley starts at the King St Metro an runs every 15 minutes from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. every day of the week. There are stops along both sides of King Street until Market Square, at which point it turns around.
