Pork Barrel BBQ has grown from a small spice rub company selling jars of rub out of founders Heath Hall and Brett Thompson’s basements into the fastest growing barbecue company in America and DC’s hottest new BBQ joint. In August 2009, Heath and Brett partnered with veteran restaurateurs “Mango” Mike Anderson and Bill Blackburn to open the first Pork Barrel BBQ Restaurant in the Del Ray neighborhood of Alexandria, Virginia. The Pork Barrel BBQ Restaurant officially opened its doors on November 29, 2011 – and has quickly become a neighborhood favorite!
