Friendship Firehouse Museum

A historic red-brick firehouse with a tall tower marked 1774 stands on a cobblestone street, surrounded by trees, parked cars, and neighboring small shops under a cloudy sky.

Established in 1774, the Friendship Fire Company was the first volunteer fire company in Alexandria. The current firehouse was built in 1855 and now houses historic firefighting equipment and exhibits. Open Saturday and Sunday 1-4 p.m.

Group tours are welcome, but due to limited staffing and space, call at least two weeeks in advance to coordinate details of your visit. For information, call The Lyceum at (703) 746-4994.
