The American Horticultural Society’s River Farm is a popular rental venue in the Washington, D.C. metro area that serves as the setting for weddings, educational workshops, social gatherings, and corporate/nonprofit meetings and retreats. The historic 25-acre property—part of George Washington’s original farmlands—features an elegant manor house and beautiful formal and informal gardens along the Potomac River in the Alexandria section of Fairfax County. A short drive along the scenic George Washington Parkway from Old Town, Alexandria, River Farm is acclaimed for its spell-binding vistas stretching down to the Potomac River, along with its creative children’s gardens, beautiful four-acre meadow, and colorful flower displays.   

Hours:

  • Monday-Friday: 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
  • Saturday: 9 a.m.-1 p.m.(April-October only)
  • Private events rental schedule available every day, including most holidays.
