The Unlock Your Story Sweepstakes (the “Sweepstakes”) is sponsored by Visit Alexandria, 277 S. Washington Street, Suite 210, Alexandria, VA 22314 (“Sponsor”).
The Sweepstakes is open to legal residents of the United States who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry.
Residents of the City of Alexandria, Virginia are permitted to enter but are not eligible to win the prize. Employees, officers, and directors of Sponsor and its affiliated organizations, advertising and promotion agencies, and their immediate family members (spouse, parent, child, sibling) and household members are not eligible to win.
Void where prohibited by law.
Entry Period: February 2, 2026 at 12:00 a.m. ET through March 30, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
Sponsor’s computer is the official time-keeping device for the Sweepstakes.
To enter, complete the official entry form on the Visit Alexandria website during the Sweepstakes entry period and provide:
One (1) potential winner will be selected for each sweepstakes in a random drawing from all eligible entries received during the applicable entry period.
The drawing will be conducted within five (5) business days following the close of each sweepstakes. Potential winners will be notified by email using the contact information provided at entry.
Potential winners must respond within five (5) business days of notification and complete all required documentation, including an affidavit of eligibility, liability/publicity release, and any tax forms required by law.
If a potential winner cannot be contacted, does not respond within the required timeframe, fails to complete required documentation, or is determined to be ineligible, forfeits the prize, or declines the prize, Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify that entrant and select an alternate winner from among the remaining eligible entries.
Visit Alexandria reserves the right to verify residency and eligibility prior to awarding any prize.
One (1) Alexandria vacation package with an approximate retail value of $1,000 or more (Actual Retail Value – ARV). The prize may include, but is not limited to:
Specific prize components for the sweepstakes are determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. Travel or experience dates are subject to availability. Prizes are valid for one (1) year from the date of award.
Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if the advertised prize or any portion thereof becomes unavailable for any reason.
No substitution, transfer, or cash equivalent is permitted, except at Sponsor’s discretion.
The prize is taxable as income under U.S. law. The winner is solely responsible for all federal, state, and local taxes associated with receipt or use of the prize.
The winner will be required to complete and return an IRS Form W-9 prior to prize fulfillment. Sponsor will issue an IRS Form 1099, as required by law.
This Sweepstakes does not involve consideration. Consideration means requiring entrants to provide something of value (such as money, a purchase, or payment) in order to enter. No purchase, payment, or fee is required to participate in the sweepstakes.
By accepting a prize, the winner grants Sponsor permission to use the winner’s name, city and state of residence, likeness, voice, and prize information for advertising, publicity, and promotional purposes related to Visit Alexandria, without further compensation, unless prohibited by law.
Information collected from entrants is subject to Visit Alexandria’s Privacy Policy. Email addresses provided may be used for Sweepstakes administration and, if opted-in, for marketing communications. Entrants may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time.
Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, inaccurate, or misdirected entries, technical failures, or any damage to an entrant’s computer or mobile device resulting from participation.
By participating, entrants agree to release and hold harmless Sponsor from any claims arising out of participation or prize acceptance.
Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or modify the Sweepstakes if fraud, technical failure, or any other factor beyond Sponsor’s reasonable control impairs the integrity of the Sweepstakes.
Sponsor’s decisions regarding all aspects of the Sweepstakes are final and binding.
The Sweepstakes is governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to conflict of law principles.
To request the name of the winner, send a written request to Visit Alexandria, 277 S. Washington Street, Suite 210, Alexandria, VA 22314, within sixty (60) days following the end of the applicable sweepstakes.
