Virtue Feed & Grain
Records from 1786 tell of beer being sold in Wales Alley, later home to one of the earliest breweries in the area. Virtue Feed & Grain proudly carries on that tradition today. From gold medal winning Vienna Lager by Devil’s Backbone to the full-bodied Shotgun Betty, everyone will find a brew worth pairing with our delicious food & rich history.
This historic building was once used as a feed house in the 1800s. Bordering Wales Alley, the structure is shrouded with coincidental signs that the project was meant to be: A former Alexandria Mayor and Irishman, John Fitzgerald, shared ownership of the alley where beer was sold as early as 1786. It was later named for Andrew Wales, the owner of the brewery.
