The Torpedo Factory Art Center was once a torpedo factory!

The U.S. Naval Torpedo Station opened in 1919 and operated for five years before becoming munitions storage. In 1974, a group of visionary artists proposed to renovate part of the neglected factory into usable studio spaces.

The Torpedo Factory Art Center is now home to the largest collection of publicly accessible working-artist studios in the United States. Bring your group to a self-guided tour of the 82 studios and six galleries, meet resident artists and watch them work.

Groups may contact the Torpedo Factory in advance to coordinate the details their visit.
