Stabler-Leadbeater Apothecary Museum

Step back into medical history and host your reception in one of the nation’s oldest pharmacies, with over 15,000 of its original medical products still intact. Since 1792, Alexandria patrons including Martha Washington relied on tonics dispensed from the Apothecary. The pharmacy closed its doors in 1933 and was renovated back to its original state boasting a vast collection of herbal botanicals, hand-blown glass and a spectacular collection of archival materials including journals, letters, prescriptions and more.

The museum is available for private tours and receptions and can accommodate up to 50 guests.
