Event flyer with a smiling man in colonial attire holding a bell. Text: ā€œLET FREEDOM HOUSE RING! Literary Fundraiser. Freedom House meets Spite House at Morrison House, July 20, 1-3 PM.ā€ Background features rowhouses.

Join three historic houses of Old Town — Freedom House, Morrison House, and Spite House — for a special fundraiser benefiting the Freedom House Museum Rehabilitation Project.

Spend the afternoon at the storied Morrison House, where history and storytelling come together in a one-of-a-kind event. Enjoy a panel discussion:

  • John Wasowicz shares his insights into the 7th book of his acclaimed Old Town Mystery Series, Spite House.
  • Brendan O’Leary, the current owner of an Old Town spite house, reflects on the unique experience of living in a landmark.
  • The Old Town Crier, Ben Fiore-Walker, recounts the history of Old Town’s Freedom House and the lore of its Spite Houses.
  • A representative from the Freedom House Museum shares the cultural and historical importance of the Freedom House and the elements of its rehabilitation project.

After the discussion, John will be signing copies of Spite House and 40% of all book sales will be donated to the Freedom House Rehabilitation Project. Guests can also enjoy light refreshments and mingle with the rest of the panel!
