Colin Fraser: “In the Moment” Opening Reception

01 | 04

This solo exhibition presents a compelling body of work by Sweden-based and egg tempera painter Colin Fraser, featuring luminous still lifes and landscapes, with select figurative works woven throughout. Fraser’s paintings are deliberate, exacting, and quietly immersive, built through patience rather than spectacle, and sustained by a deep commitment to observation.

Whether depicting a solitary chair, a bowl of fruit, or a stretch of water edged with trees, Fraser strips his subjects down to their essential relationships of light, structure, and atmosphere. His compositions feel poised and intentional, inviting prolonged looking rather than immediate consumption. Nothing is incidental; every edge, surface, and interval is carefully considered.

Fraser’s still lifes elevate ordinary objects into moments of sustained attention, while his landscapes balance clarity with restraint, capturing place without romantic excess. When figures appear, they do so subtly, reinforcing the sense of stillness and quiet presence that runs through the exhibition as a whole.

Join us for the opening reception on Friday, March 27, from 6–8:30 pm. It’s free to attend, and all are welcome!
