Join Captain John Paul Jones and Able Seaman Erasmus Barlow every Tuesday for Tall Ship Providence’sTallShipTuesdaysand be transported back in time to the 18th century. Come aboard and hear Captain Jones or his trusty crew member, A.B. Barlow, tell stories of Providence’s exploits, read children’s stories, teach you how to tie knots, sing sea chanteys and more.

While on board A.B. Barlow will serve as your online guide so be sure to listen to his briefing before hearing from Captain Jones. Every week we will post at least one new activity for Powder Monkeys, err children, in our Adventure section. Activities may include word searches, coloring sheets or historical context information based on a book read by Capt. Jones, A.B. Barlow or one of their guests.

Come aboard every week to see what ventures the Captain and crew of Providence are up to. As Captain Jones says, “you never know which way the wind will blow,”

The tall ship Providence provides a living link to our rich maritime, naval, and Revolutionary history. Our Providence is a reproduction of the first ship authorized to serve in the Continental Navy and John Paul Jones’ first American command. Once we can to the public, Providence will welcome visitors aboard to see the ship, meet John Paul Jones, and get a taste of what life was like aboard an eighteenth-century sloop. We will also offer private tours, charters and themed cruises. Providence is also available for special events including corporate outings, weddings, bachelor and bachelorette parties and other special occasions.
